Ingredients
  

  • 2 steaks ribeye, sirloin, or flank
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 cups mixed greens romaine, spinach, or arugula
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 cucumber sliced
  • 1/4 red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup blue cheese crumbled
  • 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans optional
Dressing
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Season the steak: Rub steaks with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Cook the steak: Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat. Cook steaks for 4–6 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  3. Rest the steak: Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes to retain juices.
  4. Slice the steak:Cut thin slices against the grain for tenderness.
  5. Prepare the salad base :Add mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion to a large bowl.
  6. Assemble the salad: Top with sliced steak, blue cheese, and nuts if using.
  7. Make the dressing: Whisk olive oil, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  8. Serve: Drizzle dressing over the salad and toss lightly before serving.

Notes

  • Ribeye gives the richest flavor, while sirloin is a leaner option
